K-3D is a free and open source 3D modeling app and 3D editor developed by K-3D for Windows. It's reliable, powerful, professional and easy-to-use.
The download has been tested by an editor here on a PC and a list of features has been compiled; see below. We've also created some screenshots of K-3D to illustrate the user interface and show the overall usage and features of this 3D modeling program.
A free 3D modelling and animation studio and renderer
K-3D is the free-as-in-freedom 3D modeling, animation, and rendering system. K-3D features a robust, object-oriented plugin architecture, designed to scale to the needs of professional artists, and is designed from-the-ground-up to generate motion-picture-quality animation using RenderMan-compliant render engines. We strongly recommend the Aqsis render engine for use with K-3D.
K-3D's innovative interactive tutorial system will introduce you to basic use of the program. New tutorials can easily be recorded and shared with the rest of the community.
K-3D allows you to create and edit documents in multiple realtime OpenGL solid, shaded, texture-mapped views. You can even model, animate, and interact with animations while they play back for maximum productivity!

Compatibility and License
K-3D has been released under the open source GPL license on Windows from 3D design. The license provides the options to freely download, install, run and share this program without any restrictions. The source code for K-3D should be freely available and modifications are certainly permitted as well as the option to inspect the software.
What version of Windows can K-3D run on?
K-3D can be used on a computer running Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn't be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. It runs on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems with no dedicated 64-bit download provided.
